Neal Mackintosh

Neal has been with the practice for more than 20 years, over which time he has emerged as a design leader, not only within JAWSARCHITECTS, but in his profession at large.
Neal\'s outstanding design skills have contributed directly to the achievement of a number of design awards by the practice. His design leadership fosters high design quality across the spectrum of JAWSARCHITECTS projects.
Neal\'s broad experience includes residential, commercial, tourism and institutional sectors. His key strengths are his ability to listen carefully and respond to design
issues with creativity and a sensitivity to issues of place, producing works that express a strong connection between architecture and the landscape.
Neal is a past National Councillor of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and has served on its national executive as Honorary Treasurer.

David Button
Director - BA DIP ARCH RAIA
David has been with JAWSARCHITECTS for more than 25 years, over which time he has earned a reputation among his peers for his keen understanding of the practical aspects of building.
His particular experience in energy efficient design and sustainable building technology have contributed to the success of many projects undertaken by the firm.
Also noted for his expertise in building conservation, David has been a Tasmanian Heritage Councillor and a member of the Hobart City Council’s Battery Point Advisory Committee. He currently serves on the Tasmanian Heritage Council’s Works and Assessment Committee.
David’s other interests include motor sport: he is a senior steward with the Confederation of Australian Motorsport.

Scott Verdouw
Director - B ARCH B ENV. DES. RAIA
Scott joined JAWSARCHITECTS in 2002, after gaining considerable experience both locally and overseas. Showing strong drive and commitment to the practice he was appointed associate, then senior associate, and in 2009 accepted an invitation to become a director of the company.
A skilled all-round architect, Scott has been a key contributor to a range of significant JAWSARCHITECTS projects, including \'Barrington\' aged care facility, the Union Bar at the University of Tasmania, Moorilla Estate Reception Centre, \'Wellington Centre\' - a major mixed use development in central Hobart, Burnie Surf Club redevelopment and the new Burnie Bowls Club.
One of his key roles is to make the practice’s high quality architectural services available to a growing number of clients in Tasmania’s North-West.
Scott\'s keen interest in building construction systems has been a major factor in the firm’s decision to enter the field of transportable modular housing.
